Publishing Your Web Site

Upon the completion of your web site, it must be published ( sometimes referred to as posted) in order to be available for visitors. Web sites can be published to different places, the Internet, an Intranet or a CD-ROM disc, for example. A very useful tip is to also publish it to your computer whenever you are going to make site changes. This provides a safe environment to work in that will not affect site visitors.

In order to publish your web site, follow these steps:

  1. Select File Menu + Publish Web ( Image #1).
  2. In the Publish Web Dialog box, Click options if the box is not expanded as in Image #2.
  3. Enter address of Site.
  4. Select Publish all Pages.
  5. Click Publish.
  6. If site has a password, a dialog box will appear asking for the information.
  7. You will see the Status Box ( Image #4) while the web site is being posted.
  8. A box appears upon completion of publishing the site.

1. 2. 3. 4.

It would be prudent to have a current copy of your site at all times. If there is a problem, you will have an emergency copy.
